Nov 2, 2025 Dr. John Hu from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering gave a presentation titled "What Is Bluetooth?" in the STEM Lecture. Students learned how wireless headphones work, explored electrical and wireless connections, practiced translating phrases into Morse code, and discovered how Bluetooth technology enables everyday wireless communication. The talk was interactive, fun, and sparked strong student interest in engineering concepts.
Nov 1, 2025 The SCS hosted its 4th annual Halloween Fundraiser Concert, bringing families and friends together for an evening of music and celebration. Students presented a wide variety of performances on piano, violin, cello, clarinet, flute, and voice, featuring classical works, folk pieces, and festive Halloween-themed selections. The event successfully showcased students’ talents while raising funds to support the school’s educational programs and cultural activities.
Oct 5, 2025 Dr. Tingyin Xu from the School of Geology gave a presentation titled "Rock Stars - Exploring the Cool Side and Fun Facts of Geology" in the STEM Lecture. During the event, SCS students explored a range of fascinating real-world case studies, including asbestos, mercury contamination, arsenic in drinking water, and the role of biominerals. Through these examples, students gained a deeper understanding of how geological processes shape the environment and influence human health.

Mar 20, 2025 Dr. Jia Yang delivered a presentation titled "Battling the Blaze: Understanding Wildfires and Staying Safe" in the 3rd STEM Lecture. Through this engaging session, SCS students gained valuable insights into the causes and impacts of wildfires and learned practical strategies for staying safe during such events.
Feb 22, 2025 Camilla Hu, Melody Wu, and Stella Zhang attended the 6th Oklahoma Chinese Speech Contest in Tulsa. Camilla won second place in the native Chinese group for ages 3–10, while Stella earned second place in the non-native Chinese group. Melody received the Excellence Award in the native Chinese group. Congratulations!
